Prairie Gold

The Prairie Edition introduced by Yellowstone Watch Company is in the spirit of a wagon wheel design that is reminiscent of the covered prairie wagons pioneers used to traverse the vast prairies of the American West.

Prairie schooners as they were named in 1837, were designed with a blue painted body, red painted wheels, and a broad white canvas cover or bonnet, romantically envisioned as a sail of a “schooner” ship crossing a sea of prairie grass blowing in the wind. 

Pioneers traveling in covered wagons across the prairies played a pivotal role in opening up the American West by braving difficult conditions and forging a path for westward migration and leading the way for others to follow.
